Supporting Your Athlete's Next Step in the Football Pathway

At Kingston Minor Football League (KMFL), our mission has always been clear: to provide a positive, development-focused football experience that builds skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of the game.

For some athletes, that journey remains rooted in recreational sport. For others, there comes a time when they are curious about testing themselves in a more competitive environment. Supporting both paths is an important part of KMFL’s mandate.

A Connected Football Pathway in Kingston

KMFL is proud to maintain a strong, collaborative relationship with the Kingston Grenadiers, who operate the region’s competitive (rep) football programs. Together, our organizations work to support a healthy, athlete-centered football pathway in Kingston — one that prioritizes preparation, education, and appropriate progression.

While KMFL operates as a recreational league, our programming is intentionally designed to emphasize:

  • Foundational football skills

  • Football IQ and understanding of the game

  • Confidence, resilience, and teamwork

  • Quality coaching and safe development environments

These elements help ensure that athletes who choose to explore rep opportunities feel prepared and supported.

For Fall Season & Winter Camp Athletes

This message is for both athletes who participated in our Fall 2025 season and those who are new to KMFL through our Winter Camp.

Regardless of when an athlete joined our organization, our focus remains the same: development over outcomes, learning over winning, and ensuring every athlete has a positive experience in football. We are confident that athletes who have progressed through our programs — whether in the fall or this winter — have received strong preparation that will serve them well in a tryout setting.

U12AA & U14AAA Tryouts Now Open

Registration is now open for the Grenadiers’ U12AA and U14AAA tryouts. Participation in tryouts is entirely optional and should always be guided by an athlete’s interest, readiness, and enjoyment of the game.

For families considering this step, we encourage open conversations with your athlete about what they are looking for in their football experience and how they want to challenge themselves moving forward.

Proud of Our Athletes — Wherever the Game Takes Them

No matter where an athlete’s football journey leads — whether continuing in recreational football with KMFL, exploring competitive opportunities, or simply building confidence and skills through sport — we are proud of every athlete who represents our league.

KMFL remains committed to supporting development, growth, and a lifelong connection to the game of football.

If you have questions about development pathways or would like to discuss options further, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
